ACROPICS or Agroecological Crop Protection towards international co-innovation dynamics and evidence of sustainability – is a global initiative of Multiple research organisations, Academic Institutions, companies, producer groups and CSOs.
Main objectives of ACROPICS are to co-develop and determine pathways to reduce or negate the use of Synthetic Chemicals and posions from Agricultural production systems – and enable Food Systems transformations
Recently, a prominent media house in India published an article about ACROPICS initiative and its implementing partners in India – Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Solan, Himachal Pradesh as well as Gram Disha Trust.
GDT functions as a Sustainable Agricultural Systems (SAS) within the ACROPICS Framework. GDT further collaborated with three Farmer Producer Companies in Himachal Pradesh to enable this transformation. These are
- Karsog Natural FPC – comprising about 100+ smallholder farmers
- Pachahd Natural FPC – comprising about 100+ smallholder farmers
- Solan Natural FPC – comprising mainly of women farmers about 60+
